Demonstration day on equipment for measuring field variability and variable input distribution
Description
On October 28, 2025 , the University of Córdoba (UCO) will hold a face-to-face demonstration event entitled "Equipment for measuring field variability and variable distribution of inputs" at the Rabanales Experimental Farm .
The activity is part of the Digitalization Strategy for the Agri-Food, Forestry and Rural Sector , promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) , which seeks to accelerate the digital transformation of the Spanish countryside and promote a more innovative, sustainable rural environment that generates quality employment, with special attention to young people and rural women .
Contents of the day
During the day, participants will be able to learn firsthand about the most advanced technologies for the control and automation of agricultural machinery , both in herbaceous and woody crops.
Among other topics, the following will be addressed:
- Terrain variability measuring equipment.
- Variable dosage (VD) systems for inputs such as fertilizers and phytosanitary products, tailored to the specific needs of each area.
- Sensors installed in machinery , smart harvesting technologies and advances in agricultural robotics .
The goal is to equip professionals and students in the agri-food sector with practical and digital skills that will enable them to apply real-world technological solutions to improve the efficiency and sustainability of their farms.
