ModernAKIS organizes two capacity-building sessions to evaluate and strengthen AKIS in Spain.

Within the framework of the European Horizon Europe ModernAKIS project, two capacity-building sessions will soon be held to improve the understanding, evaluation, and application of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) in Spain.
The program will be developed in two complementary sessions :
First online session – Wednesday, October 29
Under the title “Capacity Building Workshops – National CoP Spain: Evaluating the Spanish AKIS” , this workshop will address:
- AKIS governance driven by MAPA .
- The interactive innovation and systems thinking approach in complex agricultural, livestock, and forestry contexts.
- Practical cases of public policy evaluation .
The session will feature speakers from MAPA, FEUGA, Ceia3, CDTI, and evaluation experts, as well as a participatory space for questions and sharing experiences.
Second in-person session – Monday, November 3, La Vega Innova (Espacio Ágora)
The in-person session will provide a deeper understanding of practical experiences in evaluation and digitalization, with presentations by:
- Telefónica – La Vega Innova.
- FEUGA – ModernAKIS.
- School of Industrial Organization (EOI).
- Cajamar Foundation – Tierra Platform.
- Spanish Wine Federation.
Additionally, tools for navigating the complexity of AKIS will be discussed, rounds of discussions will be held with attendees, and networking and shared meal opportunities will be organized.
🚌 To facilitate attendance, transportation will be provided from Atocha to La Vega Innova and back at the end of the day.
These workshops represent a key opportunity to strengthen the AKIS ecosystem in Spain , share evaluation experiences, and move toward a more connected and innovative system capable of responding to the challenges of the agri-food and rural sectors.
