Innovation and sustainability will be key in the new extension of the standard approved for the OIAM.

The General Council of Interprofessional Agri-Food Organizations has approved the extension of the standard requested by the Interprofessional Organization of Avocado and Mango (OIAM) . This step, essential for the future of the sector, includes a significant commitment to research, development, and innovation (R&D&I).

The approval contemplates allocating between 2% and 5% of the planned financial resources specifically for R&D&I activities, with the aim of promoting solutions that make the sector more sustainable and competitive. This extension will be valid for three years and will also include investments in promotion, communication, and improving knowledge of the sector and its products.

At the same time, the extension of the standard proposed by the Interprofessional Agri-Food Organization of Beef (Provacuno) has also been approved, with an emphasis on promotion and sector support for a period of five years.

This decision, taken during the 51st plenary session held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, reflects a strong commitment by the agri-food sector to modernization and improved competitiveness, supported by technological innovation and sustainable development.
