Enrique Tomás creates a research center on pig nutrition

According to the online publication ON Economía , the Iberian ham distribution company Enrique Tomás has decided to investigate pig nutrition to improve its product.

With this in mind, he created the Pig Nutritional Research Center , whose stated objective is to cultivate new forages to "research and test improvements in animal feed." It also aims to "update methods of raising pigs on farms and in livestock areas."

The Pig Nutritional Research Center is located in Montornès del Vallès (Barcelona). It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Enrique Tomás SL, the giant Iberian ham retailer. However, its representative is not the eponymous founder, but one of his sons, Albert Tomás Mendo, according to data from the Commercial Registry .

The decision to open a center for research into pig nutrition is a new step in Enrique Tomás's commercial strategy . ON ECONOMIA contacted the company, but no further details were provided at press time.
