Technical workshop on innovation and sustainability in the production of berries

On June 25, 2025 , the Cajamar Foundation will organize a free in-person workshop for professionals in the berry sector at the Port of Huelva Reception and Documentation Center . The event will focus on analyzing the 2025 campaign and sharing knowledge on the latest strategies for achieving more efficient and environmentally friendly production.
This event is set to be a benchmark forum for the sector, where key topics will be discussed, such as the varietal situation of strawberries and other small fruits , the optimization of water and fertilizer use , and a provisional analysis of the results of the current campaign .
Main contents of the day:
- Review of the varietal offering and adaptation of plant materials to production conditions in Huelva.
- Strategies for efficient water use through sensor technologies and decision-support tools in irrigation.
- Advances in sustainable fertilization, with plant monitoring and models for calculating the water footprint.

The event is supported by organizations such as Cuna de Plateros , Fresón de Huelva , and Freshuelva , and is presented as a unique opportunity for the exchange of experiences among producers, technicians, and experts committed to more sustainable and innovative agriculture.
This event is part of the activities funded by the training and dissemination grants of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 , with co-financing from the EAFRD and the MAPA .
