Description
Between June 30 and July 16, 2025 , Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España is organizing a virtual training program for advisors and technicians in the agri-food sector. The program aims to strengthen their skills in using the SIGCEX Cooperative Geographic Information System . This training, part of the Sustainability, Quality, and Innovation program, will be conducted in collaboration with various regional federations and Esri Spain .
The itinerary includes three courses (each lasting three days, with synchronous online sessions of four hours per day), which will address key aspects for compliance with current regulations and the integration of data into public systems such as SIEX , contributing to the implementation of the Cooperative Field Notebook (C3) and the digital transition of cooperatives.
Among the contents that will be covered are:
- The environment and use of SIGCEX , its configuration and the linked data sources (CUE and REA).
- Design of dashboards for the sustainable monitoring of fertilizers, phytosanitary products, and meteorological indicators.
- Use of advanced geospatial resources , such as access to open data or crop monitoring using Sentinel-2 images.
This initiative, which is part of the digitalization strategy led by Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España (Spanish Agricultural and Food Cooperatives), aims to strengthen the concept of "data cooperatives" by promoting the strategic use of geographic information for more sustainable, precise, and efficient agriculture.
The itinerary is possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food , through aid for digitalization advisory services within the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027 , with a subsidy of 257,193.7 euros (57% co-financed by the MAPA and 43% by the EAFRD).
Registration: Interested parties can apply for a spot (limited) through their regional federation. The AKIS Advisors Platform will publish the openings in its Training Courses section when they become public, along with registration links.
Through this program, advisors will acquire skills in using advanced geographic tools and data, promote the sustainable use of inputs, and develop applications for field data monitoring and analysis.
