Spain is consolidating its position as a European leader in agri-food technology, boosting foreign investment in R&D&I. This is revealed in the report "Mapping the Agrotech Ecosystem 2024 ," published by ICEX - Invest in Spain and Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar , which analyzes the sector and its growth opportunities.
The report highlights the strategic contribution of Spanish agriculture to the economy, with its high added value and employment. With a value chain that generated €114.14 billion and employed 2.3 million people in 2023, Spain is positioned as the fourth largest agri-food power in the EU.
Furthermore, the study identifies opportunities for innovative companies and reinforces the country's role as an agricultural technology hub, key to the sector's sustainable and digital transformation.
